Welcome to the Young Lawyers’ Corner! The goal of the Magnolia Bar’s Young Lawyers’ Committee (“YLC”) is to address the needs of young lawyers in the Magnolia Bar Association. The YLC gives the young lawyers the opportunity to network and share in their common experiences of being young lawyers. Whether the young lawyer is a solo practitioner, an associate or a partner in a big or small firm, a civil litigator, civil rights attorney, criminal defense lawyer, a transactional attorney, governmental lawyer, a plaintiff’s lawyer, defense lawyer or just a lawyer, we are here as a resource. In addition, the YLC provides assistance for those who are transitioning from law school to the practice of law as well as current law students.
The YLC’s speaker luncheons are held bimonthly. The YLC participates in the Magnolia Bar Foundation events and community service projects including Mock Trial, Toys for Children and Thanksgiving Dinner giveaway to persons in need. In addition, the YLC coordinates several activities with the younger lawyer in mind. We are also developing a signature community service project. We have a variety of social activities which include happy hours, golf clinics and social gatherings.
The YLC is a good place for a young lawyer to begin his or her leadership within the Magnolia Bar Association and the legal community. Committees within the YLC includes community service, speaker’s luncheon and social activities. In addition to chairing these committees, many of the members of the YLC also serve and/or chair committees within the Magnolia Bar Association.
